January 15th -The Academy Partners with Hand on Atlanta and 30 volunteers to help improve the facility grounds for the MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY SUMMIT  - view pictures

January 16th - First day of Winter session / Saturday Classes Added /  Adult Classes Added

February 2007- Cartoon Network Trip -students participate in animation tour and 1on 1 discussions with Cartoon Network Staff

February 4th Atlanta Comic Convention - students participate with artist and vendors in the comic book & animation community - we will have a booth at the convention

Feb 16 Ghost Rider - The Marvel Movie - students take a trip to see the movie and write an extensive report & story synopsis

Feb 21  Academy students created a great 8 foot mural for Atlanta Montessori Academy. The mural was created for 1st graders in celebration of Great African American Jazz Musicians.

March Students participate in $5,000 contest to create postage stamp

April 3rd 1st day of Spring Session

April 4th South Fulton Medical Center On April 4th, 2007 Academy Students created life like portraits and caricatures for hospital patients, many cannot walk, are elderly  and do not receive frequent visitors.  All Academy students are taught to serve and give in addition to their intense artistic training. view pictures

April 7th  Essence Cares sponsored by Essence Magazine and Atlanta Cares  hosted a mentoring exposition at Booker T. Washington H.S. in Atlanta.  Susan Taylor of Essence greeted the students as they presented her with drawings worked on in class. April 7, 2007  view pictures -

April 21-22 Atlanta Comics Expo - Academy Students attend Comic Book Expo _ Hyatt Regency Atlanta Hotel

May 1st - 1year anniversary -

May 4th & 5th Students participate in SAM FLAX art exposition

May 4 - Spiderman 3 movie Event - Students attend the Spiderman movie and create detailed report and storyboard for presentation. 

May 18 end of Spring Session

June 15- Students take a trip to see the movie and write an extensive report & story synopsis- special attention is paid to the dynamics of the Silver Surfer Summer Comic Movie Spotlight All the Academy Students Participated in Viewing the Summer Comic Book Movies ( Fantastic Four / Rise of the Silver Surfer ,  Spiderman 3, and Transformers ) & Wrote Report & Synopsis

June 2007 - Stand for Children's Day Academy Students participated in an outdoor caricature & portraits event, sponsored by the East Point Fire Department & East Point Community Action Team

June 30^th Annual ART IN THE PARK. This outdoor art event held at the East Point Community Action Team / Ware Avenue, East point, GA.. We drawing caricatures and portraits of park patrons and each other. view pictures   Sponsored by Fulton County Arts Council

July 10^th, 2007Students form Atlanta Montessori Academy came out to for a comic & life drawing class.  Earlier in the year we created a Jazz Mural for Atlanta Montessori Academy view pictures

August 10th Summer session Ends

Students & Parents enjoy a celebration night of their work as the summer

August 15th Fall Session Begins August 15th 2007 and lasts until October 31st, 2007

September 1, 2007 First Day of Fall Session

September - COMIC BOOK PROJECT  Academy students participate in comic book project with Columbia University and Dark horse Comics - details

October 13 -  Marvel Day @ Academy – invited comic companies including Marvel
Comics in Atlanta speak and interact with students - special guest star - SPIDERMAN pictures

October 5th  Linda Clay Johnson Art Expo

November 12th, 2007 Academy Students attend comic book convention at the Marriot Century in Atlanta

November 17th- Brush Out Hunger at Family Life Ministries (Paintings) Students partner
with celebrities to raise through art work sales money for the Homeless

November 20th  Academy Parents celebrate "The Gift" a night of music, food and art.  SER reports issued

November 21st - Last day of Fall Session Registration period November 21st to December 10th

November 28th -First day of Winter session

December 8th Sam Flax Art and Design Store - Kids Shopping Day !  Academy students celebrate a  shopping day for kids

December 14th  - Comic Book Project due

December 21st- Comics for Christmas- Academy Students partner
with local hospital to draw comics for patients
